Couples That Suck!

Ron/Hermione
I completely detest this couple! Obviously it's now canon, so I can't argue with it, but I still hate it like poison. I mean, if Ron likes Hermione so much, then how come he waited to ask her to the ball as a last resort? It really seems like he didn't even want her until he found out he couldn't have her. Why did he always have to act all immature and stupid and mean to her? I know he's young, but Ginny and Harry are even younger than Ron, and you didn't see them acting so ridiculous over their feelings.

Also, why did Hermione choose Harry's "side" in BOTH of the big fights where Harry and Ron weren't speaking? It seems Hermione has always been closer to Harry than to Ron. Also, she constantly nags Ron and it seems that about 99% of his behavior just annoys her completely.

I've always felt that this couple has no long term potential whatsoever. It really seems that thier personalities clash badly and they have major trouble even getting along. And the thing is that they're *supposed* to be friends! When two people are already friends, yet they constantly bicker on and on about the most trivial things, that just shows they really don't get along well, and a romantic relationship wouldn't be a very good idea.

Ron/Harry
I have to admit that this makes a ton more sense than than a lot of other couples; Harry and Ron are obviously deeply close to each other and care a lot about each other. It's tough to argue with the part in book 4 where Ron was the thing that Harry would miss the most and Dobby kept calling Ron "Harry's Weezey." But actually I just don't see any "spark" there between these two. I mean, it IS possible for two people to JUST be extremely close friends, and I don't see much indication that thier relationship is anything more than that.

Draco/Pansy
Yeah, she seems to like him, but I haven't seen Draco showing any big affection or interest in her. I think he just put up with her for the whole social status thing, since she seems to be popular.

Draco/Hermione
Actually, I don't think this couple is TOO bad. It does seem like both of these two have been concerned for each other in odd moments when you really didn't expect that they would. But on the other hand, they don't pay much attention to each other. When Draco approaches the trio, he usually ignores Hermione for Ron or sometimes Harry. And Hermione usually doesn't care or react very much to what Draco has to say. Basically, these two would have had to interact with each other a lot more before I could see a relationship.

Draco/Ginny
I don't understand why this couple has as much popularity as it does. These two have barely ever spoken to each other. I dunno, I just really can't see couplings between two people who don't even know each other or pay any attention to each other; these kinds of ships just seem pointless to me.

Harry/Cho
Harry had a crush on Cho, but it was obviously just superficial, since he didn't really know her. And since Cho's boyfriend had just died, she obviously wasn't in a good place to be getting into a relationship. I always thought this couple was stupid.

Harry/Ginny
It always seemed that Ginny only liked Harry because of a hero-worship thing since he's famous and all. How could she have had have serious feelings for him throughout all those years during which the two had barely even held a conversation? And Harry has never liked those people who are just fans of him because he's the 'boy who lived' and all, so I don't see why he wasn't totally turned off by Ginny's crush. For years, he showed no interest in her, and then he seemed to just randomly start liking her totally out of the blue.

I also thought it was messed up that he dumped her just because he thought he'd be some kind of a danger to her- as if she wasn't already in danger just by being a Weasley. And it's not like he ditched Ron or Hermione just because they would be in danger by following him.

Well, again, this one is canon so I can't really argue with it, and I have to admit that it's better than Ron/Hermione, because at least Harry and Ginny can get along with each other and never acted like totally immature idiots over their feelings, but I will just never care for this couple.

James/Lily
Gods I hate this couple. Again, it's canon, so I can't really argue with it (though I could imagine that Lily dumped James in the afterlife and started dating Snape instead, ha!) I just think it's horrible how Lily dated James despite the fact that James was constantly bullying her BEST FRIEND (Snape.) Who dates their best friend's bully?! Who dates a mean bully at all?! Speaking of James being a bully, I severely hate him, he's obviously a bastard and he deserves to be alone for eternity and not have any kind of romance whatsoever.

Percy/Oliver
Maybe I'm missing something, but I am completely LOST as to why this couple is popular at all. Have they ever spoken? What exactly do they have in common? I'm confused.

Side Character/Main Character
This kind of goes along with how I just can't see relationships between two people who barely ever interact in the books. And it's even worse when one of them is a side character, because we don't know that character's personality very well, so it's impossible to even tell if the couple would be compatible based on thier personalities. If you're going to make relationships involving side characters, you might as well just go all the way and stick a canon character with your own original character, because you really have to imagine the side character's personality yourself since it's not shown in the book. And I just personally have never had any interest in original characters; I get into a fandom for the canon characters that I know and love, not to hear about some random character that some person made up. So I really don't like stuff like Harry/Seamus, Harry/Lavendar, etc.

Neville/Anyone
Sorry, Neville fans, I just really do not like him. And I think most characters in the book agree with me. Sure, they may feel sorry for him, but I think any of them liking him romantically is implausible.

Teacher/Student
In general I actually don't have a problem with older/younger couples, but in the HP universe, I just can't see any kind of indication that any teacher feels that way about a student, or vise versa.
