.:rocketshippers evidence:.
So, are they in love or aren't they? Most people have come to accept that they are- but others still believe in the "just friends" theory.
But I say, how can they be "just friends"? They're constantly all over each other! Sure, I hug my friends, but if one of them was hanging all over me the way Jesse and James hang on each other, I'd start to wonder! Every time that either one of them feels any emotion what so ever- happiness, sadness, fear, relief- they grab on to each other and hold on tight!
I could put up about a zillion more examples of the fear hugs, joy hugs, hand holds, etc., but you've seen 'em before. If not, just go to any Rocketshippy site on the net, and you're sure to find many pics that exemplify J+J's constant touching. I can't even remember seeing an ep where they didn't put thier hands on each other in some way- well, except for the first ep, but that's cuz they weren't in it!
And for those that say J+J only touch when they are feeling some extreme emotion...
There are many times when they put thier arms around each other, hold hands, and hug for no reason at all...except, that they're in love! The main time you can see examples of this is during the motto, but there are many others.
Then, of course, there is the evidence from specific episodes.
In Pokemon Shipwreck, they got pretty emotional with each other when they thought that they were going to die.
Sure, Jesse smacks James in this ep, but only to snap him out of his hysteria so he won't die! James begs her not to leave him, and she promises not to and says they'll cross the firey pit together. And at the end of the ep, James is sleeping with his head on Jesse's butt! Really, look for it!
In The Ghost of Maiden's Peak, James falls for the maiden ghost...but he doesn't want to go with her, he wants to stay with Jess! And then Jesse blasts the maiden with a bazooka to save James! And listen to James' hopeful voice as he says to Jess, "You really do care!" Of course, Jesse says it's not cuz of him, and that if a man left her she's be like, "See ya later!" But I sure didn't see her saying "See ya later!" in Holy Matrimony, when she thought James had left her...
Speaking of Holy Matrimony, this is the shippiest ep ever. James gives up a fortune to have his freedom and be with Jesse. And for the people who say that Jesse tried to force him to marry Jessebelle...her plan was to "fake a wedding and scram with the money." Fake a wedding, people! Also, Jesse did NOT leave James in the dungeon. Sure, she set a smoke bomb and dissapeared. But remember, after Vileplume let off its Stun Spore, when the butler gathered up everyone who had been stunned to throw them outside? He also gathered up Jesse and Meowth! So obviously they didn't leave, they were just hiding in the room! Also, after he threw them out, Jesse could have run away right then if she didn't care about James and wanted to get away, but she didn't! She stayed to try to help! She even made the ultimate sacrifice of cooperating with the Twerps!
And the end of the episode...
They hold hands (and it's not a handshake, the Japanese don't shake hands!), romantic music plays, they look in to each others' eyes, and you can't really say that it's just a freindship thing, cuz if it was Meowth would have been included! But they're so caught up in each other that they forget all about Meowth!
Alright, so those are the "big three" Rocketshippy eps, but there are clues in many other episodes. For instance, in The Case of the Canine Caper, Jesse makes the statement, "We'll be the king, the queen, the cat of crime!" King and queen- implying that they will be married. Plus there is a ton of unesessary touching during the motto here.
In Dig Those Diglett, notice how they say, "Our Koffing has evolved..." and "Our Ekans has evolved...". What's his is hers, and what's hers is his! Just like a marriage!
They were actually commanding each others' Pokemon in the Showboat episode. And in that same ep, Jesse got very defensive of James when he was being hit!
So the question is, if they're so in love, why don't they just admit it? Why do they call each other "friend"? Well, I'd say it's either that they are in love, but they're just not actually together yet because they're both to scared/proud to admit it (I met Rachel Lillis at a convention, and that's what SHE said!) or they already are together, but they don't want to let the boss/Twerps/whoever find out.
Look! They even sleep right next to each other!
